According to a recent msnbc article, beginning July 7, Verizon Wireless customers who exceed 2GB of data usage will be forced to pay additional fees. Verizon spokeswoman Brenda Raney confirmed that customers will be billed $10 for every GB they use exceeding the 2GB limit. These extra data charges are in addition to the flat fee of $30 that customers will pay for the first 2GB of data.

The article continues to say,

Verizon’s heavier data users will also be able sign up for a $50 per month plan for 5GB or $80 a month for 10GB, Raney said.

The $50 and $80 data plans will provide Verizon customers who regularly exceed the 2GB data cap with a slightly cheaper alternative to paying $10 per extra GB.

Lightyear Wireless remains the only wireless company to offer uncapped data usage! View a comparison of Lightyear Wireless to other wireless companies.

Kentucky-based CLEC Lightyear Network Solutions said on Friday it has revamped its management structure – the key change being J. Sherman Henderson III’s shift to a new role.

As of May 1, Henderson will become chair emeritus and founder, ceding his CEO position to Stephen M. Lochmuller, who currently serves as president. Randy Ammon, COO, will keep that title and also become president. Lightyear did not specify what may have prompted the moves, although Ammon did tell Channel Partners, “Sherm decided to move into this role, and the other changes were a natural progression within the company.”

Henderson will continue to work for Lightyear as an adviser and board member.
